Microsoft Office Project 2003
Microsoft Project is a rich-client project management application developed by Microsoft that is designed to assist project managers in developing plans, assigning resources to tasks, tracking progress, managing budgets, and analyzing workloads. The tool is geared toward project planning and offers a correspondingly wide range of functions. Ironically, the wide range of functions is the main complaint about Microsoft Project. The steep learning curve does not make this tool suitable for the daily work of beginners in particular, and will often not operate as expected. Appropriate education and training effort must be reckoned with for each new user. Since a new version will soon be released, this older version should shortly be available on more favorable pricing terms.

Conclusion

Conclusion Microsoft Project is a powerful tool with many functions. This might be the deciding factor to buy for some users. However, for many others users, this should be the reason not to buy this tool. There are some interesting alternatives among the freeware tools.
