Pros

MS project like functionality at low cost, integration with Google Apps and MS project, What-if scenarios, quick access using keyboard, import-export from/to Excel, split tasks functionality, Resource balancing, open API for easy integration with other enterprise systems, can install on CITRIX presentation server |

Cons
|
The interface looks somewhat busy. Notifications and collaboration features could have been better. |

Conclusion
|
Seavus project planner is like a low cost version of MS project. It has a lot of functions similar to MS project and it even looks like MS project. Integration with google apps, MS project and Excel support, together with open API…make it very versatile. The right functions are all in there (including cost tracking and resource balancing)... and all this at a low cost. Surely a good option for someone who is looking for a low cost MS-project-like PM software that is easy to use. |

This package will allow a project manager to not only manage resources (with resource leveling), costs and schedules but also scope changes – which of course never happen. It has the ability to also allow the PM to perform some “what-if” scenarios to experiment and see what variances will work and which ones won’t. Unlike MS Project, this package allows for an unlimited number of baselines. This package also comes with Google Apps integration piece to allow the global company a cost-effective solution. |

There’s not much negative to say about this product unless your company is not familiar with MS Project package. I would classify this as a MS Project “lite” package. |

Conclusion
|
If your organization is experienced in using MS Project as their planning and scheduling tool, this application will satisfy your needs and truly satisfy the finance department’s wallet. It is a cost-effective solution for a global company that doesn’t quite need the bulkiness of an entire version of MS Project. This tool is great for “what-if” scenarios for variances of the inquisitive project manager who likes to experiment. Resource over allocation and costs overruns are also easy to track with this product. |
