Review Criterias

Pros This is one PPM tool that provides web services interface for integration with other systems. Besides that, it supports both conventional and agile planning methodology, eases project creation through templates and assistants, comes with training modules, links to MS project, has drag-drop function, allows linking docs to tasks and comes with budget & supply management functions. The dashboard with all the graphical representations, configurable status reports, trend analysis functions, blackberry support and performance management functions are all great. Resource management (also for freelancers) together with querying and employee simulation features are useful too. Provision for checklists, knowledge maps, document versioning, deadline rule for worktimes, overtime ledger, representation of SLAs and workflow configurations are just some highlights of this function rich tool.
Cons It is highly priced (probably because it has so many functions and features). It might be a bit confusing for someone who just wants simple straightforward multi-project management tool.
Conclusion The various graphical representations that you see on the dashboard (named as cockpit) will surely allure you to this multi-project management tool. It is a very feature-rich tool. So, the pricing has been accordingly kept quite high. However, what do you do when you don't really want all those functions and features? Well, you can go for Blue Ant Express...but do not expect huge price cuts. The amount of information it is capable of capturing and displaying might not be a feature that is required or desired by many people. Still, it is a great PPM tool for large projects and enterprises where it can greatly reduce the project management effort and also easily integrate with the existing applications being used in the organization. It doesn't seem to fit small project requirements.
