Pros	This is one of the best open source web based project management tools available. A simple interface allows users to tinker for a bit and learn all that is needed quickly. A file repository allowing the user to attach files to tasks and projects is a hug bonus with the package. Can manage several companies at one time.
Cons	Not much to here for cons. No hosting available as it needs to be installed on a web server.
Conclusion	dotProject has the scalability for any size company that wants a robust and easy to use package. Modules and increased functionality can be added as needed. dotProject contains a great list of features such as hierarchical task list, file repository and great user management capabilities.

Pros	Free (open source) web based PM tool with a good user interface. It comes with a good ticket management system and Multi-language support (German, French, Spanish, English). Gantt charts, permissions based access, forums, history function, collaboration through attaching files to tasks/projects …are other good features. And yes, it makes it easy to manage multiple companies and multi-projects.
Cons	Doesn't provide a mechanism for recording effort required to complete a task …so accurate tracking of schedule and cost is difficult. Also, the documentation is cryptic and difficult to understand (and there are 2 sets of documentation). Finally, the developments on this tool seem slow.
Conclusion	It's a bit more than a basic project management tool but there are surely better web based PM tools out there. This tool can be used by small businesses for keeping track of companies/projects/tasks but dotproject hasn't reached a level where it can be recommended for larger businesses. So, if you are looking for a free tool that has basic project management features together with some decent collaboration featues, then you could go for this. But do compare it with other tools before selecting it.
