Pros
Batch updation of tickets is easy. Can set different roles for different projects for the same user. Multiple projects are supported (sub projects). Simple to use and the learning curve is short (as very minimal features). The issue tracking system is highly customizable. Supports 34 languages. Moreover, it's free (open source). |

Cons
Very basic features. More like a issue management system. Not very stable so can't use for big development or critical stuff (it is oriented more towards support and maintenance projects that just need simple project management software with very basic functions) |

Conclusion
Take a issue management system and add some collaboration tools, version control system, basic project management functions and a bit more …this is redmine. It is open source (read free). You can use it for basic project management functions especially for support / maintenance projects. It is not very powerful but then does everyone really need that much power (which sometimes complicates simple things). Not recommended for critical applications. |
